St. Nikolai ist eine Kirchenruine, ein Mahnmal und eine bedeutende architektonische Sehenswürdigkeit der Stadt Hamburg. Der heutige Zustand der Nikolaikirche ist das Ergebnis von Luftangriffen im Zweiten Weltkrieg, des weitgehenden Abrisses im Jahre 1951 sowie von Sanierungsarbeiten in den 1990er Jahren. View of the former main church of St. Nicholas in the district of Hamburg-Harvestehude. St. Nicholas is a church ruin, a memorial and an important architectural monument in the city of Hamburg. The current state of the Nikolai Church is the result of air raids in World War II, the extensive demolition in 1951 and of restoration works in the 1990s.
