The Pfaueninsel Palace (peacock island) in the Wannsee part of the district of Steglitz - Zehlendorf in Berlin. The palace is located on the shore of the river Havel. It was built in the 18th century as a pleasure palace. It was designed in a romantic ruin architecture style and is surrounded by park like landscape on the river. Today it is part of the Potsdam palace and park compound and part of UNESCO world heritage
